Jerry Burkey

Jerry Ray Burkey, 82, of Carthage, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home. He was born on April 11, 1941, in Carthage, Missouri, to Toney and Vada (Hill) Burkey. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church where he served many years as an elder and led many bible studies in his home.

He was united in marriage to Marjorie Ziler on September 4, 1960, and together they shared 63 years of marriage.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Marjorie; one son, Mark and his wife Rhonda of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a sister, Pansy Lunderman of Galena, Kansas; four granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Burkey; an infant sister; and a daughter, Janet Marie Wells.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Fairview Christian Church in Carthage, Missouri. A burial will follow at Fasken Cemetery.
