Shirley Holly

Shirley Mae Holly, 90 years of age, passed away from this life November 15, 2023. She was born June 8, 1933 in Stotts City, Missouri to Surber and Alma Jean Coomer.

She attended school in Stotts City, MO. She worked for Keeley’s Silver Wheels and The 8 Ball and then went to work for St. John's Hospital in Joplin. 

She never met a stranger and had many friends. She enjoyed attending church when she was able, crocheting, gardening, garage selling, as well as school and family reunions. She also loved being a part of the Route 66 Group. She was given the name Route 66 Granny.








Shirley married Chester Loflin July 22, 1950 (34 Years). Their union brought seven children: Jerry, Terry, Martha, Betty, Karen, Steven, and Mary.

She married Dale Holly in 1988 (25 years) and gained five stepchildren: Dwayne, Darwin, Wes, Lisa, and Dawn.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Jean Peak and step father Jim Peak, her father, Surber Coomer, as well as her first husband, Chester Loflin, her children; Betty Kay Loflin, Jerry Dale Loflin and Martha Jo Dipley, and her second husband Dale Holly.

She is survived by her sisters Betty Graalf and Norma Bose, her children; Terry Young, Karen Morrison, Steve Loflin, Mary Grissom, Dwayne Holly, Darwin Holly, Wes Holly, Lisa Martin, Dawn Lewis.





She had 23 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Graveside services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during the time of visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
