John Dunlap

(From Clark Funeral Home)

William John Dunlap Jr. passed away at his home surrounded by his family on November 27, 2023, at the age of 58. He was born to William John Sr. and Mary Tice in Joplin, MO, on June 24, 1965. He leaves behind a legacy woven with cherished memories and abundant love.

Throughout his professional journey, John dedicated himself to his work at the Joplin Globe newspaper. Outside work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, he found enjoyment in camping and in music concerts, particularly Rock and Roll and Country.

He was an avid supporter of sports, he cheered passionately for the Kansas City Chiefs, following the victories of Missouri Baseball Teams, and enjoyed watching WWE. Yet, above all, John cherished moments with his beloved family and grandchildren, especially his great-granddaughter, Zelda, whose presence brought immeasurable joy to his life.

On August 27, 2005, he found enduring love and companionship in Debbie Lankford, who survives him.

His memory lives on through his children, Amy Broach, Jason Broach and wife Virginia, and his cherished grandchildren: Kyle Broach and wife Ryleigh, Andrew Miller, Kamryn Ahumada and husband Carter, Kassiea Frederick and partner Jarid Girdner, along with his beloved great-granddaughter, Zelda Miller. John also leaves behind his siblings: James Lankford, Euleta Denefrio, Jerry Dunlap and wife Shelly, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends and family, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

John is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Bert Lankford. In memory of John's life, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Association, 9218 Metcalf Ave #424, Overland Park, KS 66212.

His memory will forever resonate in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
