Edna Towle

Edna Lucielle Towle, age 91 of Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully at the Joplin Gardens on Friday, January 12, 2023 after a decline in health. Edna was born on August 23, 1932 in Carthage, to the late Alty and Josephine (Reynolds) Cook.

Edna graduated from Carthage High School and worked as a server and cook for various cafés and restaurants throughout the years.

On March 23, 1973, Edna married William Towle in Kansas City, Missouri. They were united in marriage for 30 years before his passing in December of 2003.

Those surviving Edna are a son, Wesley Cook (Patsy) of Hazlewood, Missouri; grandchildren, Cory, Lesli and Abbi Cook; brother, Harold Cook (Wanda) of Marshfield, Missouri; sisters, Shirley Hoover (Wayne) of St. Joseph, Missouri, Violet Bishop (Buzz) of Carthage; nieces, Emelia Latty (Bryan) of Joplin, Kathy Eversold of Mazeville, Missouri; nephew, Christopher Freemyer (Mary) of Oxford, Arkansas.

Edna is preceded in death by a two sister, Lottie and Mary; three brothers, William, Fred and Bob Cook.

Graveside services are planned for Monday, December 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.

Service for Edna have been entrusted to the care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
