Geri Krell

Geraldine, “Geri”, Leigh Krell, age 90 of Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin following an extended illness. Geri was born on March 25th, 1933 in Central City, Nebraska to the late Boyd and Louise (Gimple) Desch.

Geri worked most of her adult career In Pasadena, California as a bookkeeper and office manager for Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company.

 

Surviving Geri include her daughter, Cheryl Jagow of Katonah, New York and step-children, Marian Lorimer and husband, Matt of DeKalb, Texas and Wendell Krell and wife, Kathy Ann of Stockton, California. She cherished her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leland Wynne Krell in 2022, her brother, Freddie, her son in law, Puma and her beloved dog, Misty.

 

Geri especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved being outdoors and appreciating nature. Her pets brought her loyal companionship and much joy. She and Wynne were avid campers who enjoyed meeting new people in their travels.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. Ashes will be buried at Fullerton Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri at a later date.
