Katherine Peroni-Searles

Katherine Elizabeth Peroni-Searles of El Dorado Springs, MO, was born February 22, 1993, and passed away in a car accident on December 29, 2023. 

She was a pre-school teacher in Mount Vernon, MO. She loved working with kids. She was an inspiration to many. Despite having muscular dystrophy she was able to achieve getting a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Texas State University and continued to push herself to do the things she loved, which included cooking and baking and spoiling her son, Jensen.

She is survived by her 7-year-old son, Jensen; her father, David Alan Searles; her loving mothers, Bonnie Searles and Kristie Peroni; and her godmother, Stacie Moore-Hall. She is also survived by grandparents: David Searles, Deb Searles, Judy Peroni, Andrew Peroni, and Carolyn Hall; her siblings: Nathaniel Peroni, David Andrew Peroni, Arthur Laubach, Rebecca Rash, and Kristopher Peroni-Searles; and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Katie has also had the ongoing loving support from her best friend, Emily Perry, and her mother, Tabertha Passons, throughout her life.

A memorial service will be on February 24, 2024, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home (time pending) with Pastor Tommy Bowen officiating. Immediately following will be a reception at Dederick Christian Church.
