Marvin Chester

Marvin Chester, 88, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at Carthage Health and Rehab after a long illness.

Marvin Chester was born February 25, 1935 on the family farm south of Seneca the son of Arthur and Sarah (Sadie Rinehart) Chester. He was a lifelong area resident. Marvin served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany. 








Marvin loved to dance and he and Patsy his wife oversaw the Wella Park Opera. Where they danced the nights away with many friends. Marvin loved Farmall Tractors and loved pulling them in tractor pulls. He was a member of the Spring River Valley Tracker Pull Association. Marvin went to tractor pulls all over the state. He will always be remembered for his Farmall Tractors and his International Pickup. Marvin worked for American Tripoli in Seneca over 30 years. Marvin was a member of the Swars Prairie Baptist Church.

Marvin Chester married Patsy Louise Surridge June 19, 1964 and she preceded him in death February 24, 2021. Marvin was also preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Vernon Rinehart, Max Chester, Kenneth Chester, Virginia Rice and Elizabeth East.








Survivors include three brothers, Jerry Chester, Darrell Chester and Don Chester and wife Barbara all of Seneca. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2pm following the visitation with Marvin's nephew Roger Chester officiating. A private burial will follow the services at Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery.
