(From Weng Funeral Chapel) Henry “Gene” Eugene Manley, 93 of Carthage, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024 at his home. Gene was born on July 15, 1931 in Jasper County, Missouri to Lee Herron Sr. and Ruth Irene (Shelton) Manley.
Gene was a cattle rancher and owned and operated the Brown Derby Service Station in Carthage for many years. He graduated from Golden City High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Gene was a member of the Carthage VFW post 2590 and a member of Center Point Christian Church.
Gene was united in marriage to LaVeta Faye Hall on December 4, 1959. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2024. Survivors include three sons, Neil Manley, Charles Manley, and Lonnie Browning, two daughters, Dee Carter, and Irene Robinson, his fur baby, Cody, two brothers, L.H. Manley Jr , and Richard Manley, one Sister, Lucille Kahl, twelve grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Carol Chapman, and a sister, Doris Robinson.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Fasken Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Center Point Church Building Fund
