(From Simpson Funeral Home)With the charm of a thousand sunsets and the wit of a stand-up comic, Peggy Wright has taken her last adventurous camping trip into the great yonder. Born Peggy Jean Hensley in Joplin, Missouri on July 26, 1956, she lived a life filled with laughter, love, and an uncanny knack for completing puzzles and knitting the warmest socks known to mankind. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started," and Peggy was never one to shy away from a challenge.
Peggy was the kind of woman who could turn a simple camping trip into a whimsical adventure, a woman whose creative spirit could transform a simple ball of yarn into a masterpiece of knitted art. She was a loyal friend, a fierce protector of her family, and her wit could outshine even the brightest of stars. As her grandson, Seth, I can assure you that every conversation with her was like attending a master class in humor and love. Peggy's journey through life was a testament to her adventurous heart and unyielding loyalty. She was the embodiment of Emily Dickinson's words, "Forever is composed of nows."
A proud daughter of Ernest and Carrie Hensley, both of whom she now joins, Peggy navigated the ebbs and flows of life with grace and courage. She was a loving wife to the late Jack Wright, whose memories continue to bring warmth to our hearts. Her love for her family, particularly for her daughter, Michelle Lewis, was as deep as the oceans and as vast as the universe. She leaves behind me, Seth Adams, her devoted grandson, with a treasure trove of priceless memories to cherish.
Visitation and funeral services for Peggy will be held on Tuesday, 10 Dec 2024, at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City, beginning at 1:00pm. This will be followed by a graveside committal at the Miller Memorial Gardens Cemetery (1 mile south of Miller, MO). As Peggy was an ardent believer in the power of shared stories and laughter, let us gather and celebrate her life in a manner that she would have wanted - with joy, humor, and a bit of cheekiness.
Services are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home. The family encourages relatives and friends to visit www.simpsonfh.com to share photos and memories of our beloved Peggy. As Peggy always said, "A good laugh is sunshine in the house." Let us fill our homes and hearts with the sunshine that was Peggy Wright.
