Amanda Lee

Amanda Ellen Lee, age 78, passed away at Galena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 12:05 PM on Thursday, July 5, 2018.

Amanda was born on August 1, 1939 in Fredonia, KS to the union of Clifford Vernon Craig and Ada Agnes Amanda (Kustenborter) Craig. She attended Baxter Springs High School.

Amanda was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She spent her days caring for her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed cooking and caring for her animals. One of her favorite hobbies was embroidery. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Neutral, KS.

She was united in marriage with Duane M. Lee on October 16, 1961. They made their home in Purcell, MO before moving to Columbus in October of 1976. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Ada; one brother, Vernon Craig; one daughter, Diana Golden; and one son-in-law, Clinton Golden.

Survivors include one son, Donal Lee (wife, Denise) of Carterville, MO; one daughter, Melinda Tillman (husband, Norman) of Galena; one brother, George Craig of Neodesha, KS; one sister, Karen Patterson (husband, Alvin) of Columbus, KS; as well as 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 12:00 PM. Pastor Alvin Patterson will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Lone Elm Cemetery, rural Columbus.

Visitation will take place at the funeral home on the day of the service beginning at 11:00 AM and concluding at the start of the service.
