Rev. Dale Aaron Neal of Miami, OK, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Miami, OK. He was 74.
Dale was born March 8, 1944 in Ottawa County, OK to Theodore and Gertrude (Mitchell) Neal. He was a lifetime Quapaw and Miami resident. He graduated Quapaw High School Class of 1962.
Dale was a farmer for 30 years, served on Quapaw Volunteer Fire Department over 20 years, worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami, was the manager of Baptist Village in Miami for 20 years, served as Interim pastor at First Baptist Church in Quapaw and was the pastor of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Miami for 10 years. Dale and his wife Anita provided music a revivals around the area for many years. He was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Miami.
Dale married Anita Thomasson on June 14, 1963 and she preceded him in death on October 7, 2009. He was also preceded by his parents, and his siblings, Robert Neal, Lloyd Neal, Bill Neal and Janice Lowe.
Dale is survived by his son, Brad Neal and his wife Susan of Carl Junction, MO, his daughter, Melissa McCullough and her husband Rick of Miami, OK, 2 sisters, Joyce Mathis of Miami, OK and Judy McReynolds of Broken Arrow, OK, 6 grandchildren, Bradley Peters, Brent Peters, Bethany Osborn, Tinley Neal, Teagan Neal and Malachi McCullough and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Southern Hills Baptist Church in Miami with Rev. Matt Robertson and Rev. Herb Young officiating. The Quapaw Tribal Fire Dept. Honors Team will provide Fireman's Honors. Bradley Peters, Brent Peters, Brian Osborn, Matt Wells, Crue Woolman and Cole Ball will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Southern Hills Baptist Church. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, northwest of Baxter Springs, KS. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
