Betsy Anne Petry passed away Thursday September 27, 2018 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Betsy was born in Fort Snelling, Minnesota on September 27, 1941 to the late Paul and Dorothy (Cross).
On June 14, 1963 Betsy married Henry David Petry in Jefferson City Missouri, he survives at the home. Additional survivors include; include her son, Dr. Paul David Petry and wife Sherri; daughter Beth Anne Walker and husband David; grandchildren; Luke David Petry and wife Holly, Jacob Paul Petry, Jonathan James Petry, Samuel Levi Petry, Timothy Daniel Petry and Lilli Grace Petry.
She enjoyed working with children with special needs and had special training in that field. She also worked with a crisis pregnancy center. She loved teaching youth in her church. She liked to play bridge and cribbage. She was the city bowling champion and loved bowling. She won many state bowling awards. She also like water sports as well. When she became a grandmother, she loved being with her grandchildren. Early in her life she did oil painting and teaching English. Her father was in the Army for 32 years and she lived on many Army bases as well lived in France for four years. While there she traveled all over Europe.
In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her brother, Kenneth Paul Ross.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 13,2018 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Carl Junction.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association, both in care of Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
