Jimmy Duane Besett, 83, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin on what would have been his 55th wedding anniversary. Jimmy was born July 23, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK to James and Kathryn Besett. At age 19, he opened his own auto body shop in Oklahoma City. He was self-employed most of his life in auto body work or carpet installation. Jimmy loved to work on cars and custom build them; he was always busy with a project.
Jimmy was united in marriage to Jean “Morgan” on October 5, 1963 in Oklahoma City; she preceded him in death June 20th, 1990.
Jimmy is survived by one son, Jimmy Duane Besett II and wife Christy of Haslet, TX; one daughter, Rachanda Kaderly and husband James of Jasper, MO; three grandchildren, Jed Kaderly, Tiffany Besett and Zane Besett.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one sister, Marlene Kimmel.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage.
