David C. Newby, age 64 of Carterville, Missouri passed away July 31, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
He was born January 9, 1955 to John and Mary Lou (Walker) Newby.
David had worked as a custodial supervisor for the Webb City R-VII School District. He was a member of the Forest Park Baptist Church and was considered a computer expert by his family.
He married Glenda Chaney on July 5, 1990 and she survives.
David is also survived by his father John C. Newby Jr.; three sons, Jeremy Newby and significant other, Cuddles, Nathan Newby and significant other, Brooklynn, Jonathan Viele, and significant other, Beth; two daughters, Jordan McClintock and husband Kyle, Emily Newby and significant other Austin; 12 grandchildren, Gavin, Nico, Isabella, Danielle, Serenity, Faith, Madison, Kaden, Mason, Brett, Karlie, and one on the way, Jace; one sister, Ruth Newby Greer and husband Doug; one brother, Mark Newby, and his in-laws John and Shirley Chaney.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Newby, paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Newby, Maternal grandparents, Walter and Gladys Walker.
Those gentlemen honoring his life by serving as pallbearers will be, Jonathan Viele, Jeremy Newby, Nathan Newby, Mason McClintock, Austin Fort and Brian Greer.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday on August 5, 2019 at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with pastors John Swadley and Walter Hammond officiating. Burial will follow at the Carterville Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home Webb City, Missouri.
