Glen Johnson

Glen Lee Johnson, age 77 of Joplin, Mo., passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 following an illness.

Glen was born in Bensenville, Illinois, on August 6, 1942 to Arthur Johnson and Gudrun Sandvick Johnson. He has been a long time Joplin resident. Glen worked for Freeman Hospital in the nutrition department for over twenty years until his retirement in 2017. Glen was a member of Community of Christ Church.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one sister; Dorothy Burnett and husband Bob of Joplin, two brothers; Gordon Johnson and wife Donna of Pleasant Hill, Mo., Ronald Johnson and wife Martha of Tolland, Ct., and many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Community of Christ Church in care of the mortuary.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Community of Christ Church. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, Mo.
