(From Clark Funeral Home)William Charles “Bill” Walker, age 71, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at 4:12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Medicalodge of Neosho. He was born August 21, 1950, in Youngstown, Ohio to Charles and Rhuebelle (Embry) Walker.
Bill was a 1968 graduate of Neosho High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era where he received a Purple Heart.
He married Verla Van Wey and she survives him. Bill was a U.S. Postal carrier and owned and operated Airport Video at Stone’s corner for many years.
In addition to his wife his daughter, Elizabeth Smith; two brothers, John Walker and his wife, Shirley, of Marshfield, Missouri, and James “Jim” Walker of Neosho along with several grandchildren survive him.
His parents preceded him in death.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Bill will be interred at the family plot in Macedonia Cemetery in Stella, Missouri.
