Staci Chodrick

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Staci Lynn Chodrick gained her wings after ending her brave decade plus long battle with Parkinson’s disease on March 16th, 2022 surrounded by her family and friends in Joplin, MO. Staci was 61 years young when she was granted this peace.

Staci was born on April 9th,1960 in Kansas City, MO. She is survived by her loving husband Stephen Chodrick, adoring daughter Kirsten Chodrick; doting parents, Frank and Eleanor Davis; beloved sister, Traci Sumner; and her loving aunt, uncle, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephew.

Staci grew up in Lamar, MO where she attended school and participated in multiple activities. After graduating high school, she attended Drury University and obtained her bachelors degrees in both biology and nursing while gaining licensure as a registered nurse. Staci was active with the Drury community and was most notably a member of the Delta Delta Delta women's fraternity. She worked as an RN where she served the communities of Springfield, MO, Chambersburg, PA, Monett, MO, and finally Joplin, MO by providing care to those in her charge. Her last 20 years of her career were spent caring for the children of the Joplin, MO area before retiring to spend time with her family and friends.

Throughout her life, Staci loved being near the water whether it be frequenting Table Rock Lake or vacations to the beach with Steve and Kirsten. Staci’s creative outlook could be found within the many beautiful pieces of needlework that her friends and family will continue to cherish. Staci’s love of animals was very apparent in her love of the family's English Springer Spaniels. She found great joy in her involvement joining in on various dog activities and fundraisers due to both her love of the breed and the friendships that were developed. Most of all Staci was a devoted and caring mother.

Staci will be desperately missed by all those that she left behind. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

There will be a celebration of life to be determined in Joplin, MO. Due to her passions, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the English Springer Rescue America (springerrescue.org) in Staci’s name.
