John Thomas Carlson of Hernando, Mississippi passed away March 2022, at the age of 78.
Born in Blue Rapids, Kansas on February 11, 1944, he was the fifth of eight children and is survived by three sisters: Sandy Miller of Frankfort, Kansas; Virginia Jenkins of Blue Rapids and Carol Bigham of Blue Rapids.
He graduated from Blue Rapids High School in 1962 and joined the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1966.

For nearly 40 years he worked construction and water-line maintenance and lived a good part of his life in Lamar, Missouri. John is survived by two children: John David Carlson of Southaven, Mississippi and Amy Yamate of Santa Maria, California. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
