On March 3, 2022, Valerie Paige Keating was called home by the Lord following a sudden and massive heart attack. Valerie was born March 7, 1973, in Santa Barbara, California.
She is survived by her husband Jeff and daughter Nicole of the home, son Christopher Goodan and his wife Evelyn and daughter BraeLynn in Joplin, a son Matthew Goodan in Joplin and daughter Laura Luxton and her husband David and daughter Rylee in St. Charles, Missouri, a sister Debra Goodan and June Gartrell in Ashville, North Carolina and a sister Patricia Speaker in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by her parents, Jay and Barbara Goodan in Seneca, Missouri, and Jeff's parents Pat and Diane Keating in Fulton, Kansas.
She has two sisters by choice... Jennifer Hobbs of Independence, Missouri, and Hollie Miller of El Reno, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lance Goodan who passed in 2012.
Valerie touched more hearts and lives in her short time here on earth with us than can be counted. A cancer survivor, she constantly reached out to help others facing their battles. She was a 4-H leader, a CASA volunteer, a mentor for many and source of comfort for those in need. She was generous with her time, her money and her heart and will be missed by so many.
Valerie asked that there be no formal services but that a celebration of her life be held in lieu of that. She has requested no flowers but that you help someone else as you go through your life.
