Dorothy Griffith

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Dorothy “Sue” Griffith, 67, passed away on March 25, 2022, at her home in Pineville, MO. She was the loving partner of William “Bill” French. They shared 14 devoted years together.

Dorothy was born in Jay, Oklahoma on September 12, 1954. She was the daughter of William “Bill” Tony Long and Edith V “Bilderback” Long. She obtained her GED and gained employment with Campbell Soup for many years. She also worked for Pederson’s and went on to become a USDA inspector, which made her extremely happy.

She will be remembered for her sassy, spunky, attitude and loving heart. She spoke her mind and wasn’t afraid to “tell it like it was”. She enjoyed planting flowers, which her nephew liked to pick at night, shopping at thrift stores, garage sales and spending quality time with family. Sue was a master at negotiating and securing the best deal she could. One of her favorite things to do was call her daughter, Tanya, and her granddaughter, Shelbie, multiple times a day. Family was paramount to Sue, and this was demonstrated through her acts of love, kindness and devotion to those she loved. Sue selflessly put others before herself, ensuring their needs were met before her own. She will be remembered and loved by everyone who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her partner Bill, children Tanya Myers and Sam and his wife Stephanie Berger. Grandchildren Dakota Tyson, Shelbie and her husband Troy Grimes, Jayle Berger and James Berger. Great grandchildren Alivia and Addison Padilla, Natalie and Jackson Grimes. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, father, and three brothers, Scott, Ricky, and Dennis, as well as four sisters, Kathy Coleman, Janice Long Diaz, Rhonda Hignite, and Pollie Greene.

Dorothy wanted to have a celebration of life in memory of her loving presence.
