(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Frederick "Nick" Nicholas Meyer Jr., passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022. Nick was born one of four children to Martha and Frederick N. Meyer Sr.
The oldest son, he played baseball and the bass in rock and roll bands in high school and into young adulthood.
He married Ginger Holland 50 years ago. Invited to a home bible study he chose to follow Jesus and was baptized at Westridge Christian Church in August of 1980. Working at Singer Sewing Machine Co., he continued living in Raytown, MO. area where he happily had a son, Nicholas S., and joyfully a daughter, Racheal Joy.
Following God's leading, he moved his family to Joplin to attend Ozark Christian College. Nick earned a Bachelor's degree of Biblical Literature and a Masters degree of Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.
As 'Mr. Nick' he has served young people and their families at Turnaround Ranch for many years. Recently cutting his hours of work he has enjoyed playing the bass guitar with the orchestra and choir for worship services and helping however he was needed at Mission Joplin. Following Jesus and the fun of being 'Poppi' to his three grandchildren and Dad to his kids have been his great privilege.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the, Showme Christian Youth Home, in care of the Mortuary.
