(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Larry Dean Martin, 77, of Joplin passed away Friday evening March 18, 2022 at a local nursing home in Carl Junction. Larry was born the son of Donovan Martin and Margaret Martin (Vance) on September 28, 1944 in Granby, Missouri.
Larry was a longtime Joplin resident. He had worked as a grocery retailer his whole life and had worked for several different grocers in the area. Larry was a member of the Central Christian Center in Joplin. Larry enjoyed gardening of all kinds and in particular houseplants.
Larry was united in marriage to Donna Bricker on April 10, 1992 in Miami, Oklahoma; she preceded him in death on May 2, 2021.
Survivors include one son, Larry Martin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one stepson, Dave Gumm (Judy) of Carthage, Missouri; two daughters, Jeana Frey (Troy) of Wyoming, Julie Coulombe of Carl Junction, Missouri; one brother Jerry Martin (Marilyn) of Arkansas; one sister Linda Hirshey (Roger) of Diamond Missouri; three grandchildren, Hannah, Katherine and Matthew; four great-grandchildren Noelle, Evelyn, Eleanor, and Aubrey; he was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by three brothers Terry, Johnny, and Jean; and one sister Ramona "Sis".
Services are scheduled for Friday, March 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held March 24, 2022 Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow funeral services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
