(From Ozark Funeral Home)Essie Raye Jenkins, 93, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at the McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri.
She entered this life on October 13, 1928, in Pea Ridge, Arkansas, born to the late, John Andrew and Clora Faye (Tabb) Goodnight.
She married Lloyd Jenkins, Sr. on September 7, 1947, and to this union five children born. She was a cook at the Bella Vista Country Club for several years. Essie enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and baking. She especially loved her flowers, growing several varieties, including African Violets.
Essie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Jenkins, Sr.; son, George Wesley Jenkins; sister, Zelma Barton; four brothers, Harvey, Hicks, Thurman and Lavon Goodnight.
She is survived by her children, Lloyd Jenkins, Jr. and wife, Judy of Goodman, Missouri, Caroline Jenkins of Carthage, Missouri, Sarah Breckenridge of Anderson, Missouri, Audra Elliott and husband, William of Jane, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, William, Christi, Jennifer, Patricia, Susan, Raymond, Christopher, Tiffany, Levi, Shelly, Daniel, Brandon, Jessie, James and Dustin; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Essie.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Jamey Cope will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark funeral home.
