Shirley Greninger

(From Parker Mortuary)

Shirley Jean Greninger, age 79, Joplin, went to be with her Lord, and the family and friends that have preceded her, on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Freeman West Hospital of Joplin.

Shirley was born February 15, 1943, in Leroy, Kansas, daughter of the late Charles William Reynolds and Hazel Loretta (Dahl) Reynolds.

She grew up in Kansas and moved to Joplin as a young lady where she raised her many children. Her joyous spirit, infectious personality and loving heart made her the cornerstone of her family.

She loved being a homemaker, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and could often be found teaching her grandchildren her special skills in the kitchen. She took pride in always attending her children’s and grandchildren’s many athletic and show events, and she loved following the great Parkwood Bears football teams of late 70’s and 80’s. Shirley was an avid fan of her Diet Dr. Pepper, breakfast at McDonalds and the Dallas Cowboys. She will be deeply missed by all that loved her!

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Henkel and Anita Burns, and two brothers, Robert “Bob” Reynolds and William “Bill” Reynolds.

Survivors include her husband Bill Greninger, her children, Gerald “Dee” Greninger and wife Tina of Edmond, Oklahoma, daughter, Rebecca Jean Greninger of Afton, Oklahoma; step-sons, Jeff Greninger of Seneca, Jim Greninger of Peoria, Oklahoma, Christina Greninger of Seneca, and Jeanie Beerbower of Aurora, Missouri; sisters, Catherine Peters and Helen Frew; grandchildren, Mitchell Derek Greninger, Linden Faith Linthicum, Jaden Clark Linthicum, Breann Sampson, and Brendon Wilmoth; great-granddaughter, Olivia Sampson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Friday, March 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Lew Poe officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Terry Wemer, Matt Davis, Steve St. Clair, Ron Grote, Dan Garringer, and Jim Davis serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
