Krista Cook

Krista Rayne (Dutton) Cook, 25, of Hillsboro and formerly of Parsons, passed away at 1:57 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Krista was born in Tijuana, Mexico on November 14, 1996, and adopted as an infant by Bradley Dutton and Ginger (Plain) Dutton. She moved with her family to Parsons and then Altamont where she grew up and attended school. Krista graduated in 2015 from Labette County High School. 








Following high school, she attended the Ft Scott School of Cosmetology at Pittsburg. She was the manager at Smart Style Salon at Walmart in Parsons and Pittsburg. She then worked at Salonika in Parsons.

Krista was on the dance team at LCHS and also danced ballet and jazz, and taught dance part-time. She loved spending time with her daughter, Andi. As a child she attended Westside Christian Church.

Krista was united in marriage to Andrew M. "Drew" Cook on Saturday, March 12, 2022, only one week before her death.

She is survived by her husband, Drew of the home.

Daughter - Andi Cook, of the home.

Mother – Ginger Shultz (Eric) of Altamont

Father – Brad Dutton of Parsons

Two Brothers, Chase Koester of Cherryvale and Bryce Koester of Parsons

One sister - Skylar Porter (Keith) of Ottawa

Paternal Grandparents - Dean and Lonva Dutton of Parsons

And several birth family siblings.







The service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont. A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to “Keeping Krista’s Spirit Alive” Go Fund Me.
