(From Parker Mortuary)Nancy Lee Benson, age 80, Joplin, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Mercy of Joplin surrounded by her family after a sudden illness.
Nancy was born October 20, 1941 in Joplin, daughter of the late Earl Pierson and Dorothy (Jaynes) Pierson. She grew up in Joplin and attended Joplin Schools. She was a devoted wife and homemaker, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hatfield, and a sister, Betty Belle.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold Benson; daughter, Natalie Wiseman and husband Noel of Joplin; four grandchildren, Jamie Hatfield, Connor Wiseman and wife Kayla, Kathryn Surgi and husband Aaron, and Hogan Wiseman; great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Allie; sisters, Billie Jean Brown and Kip McCullough; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
