Daniel Arthur Hill, 83, passed away at his home in Carthage, Missouri on Monday December 20, 2021. Dan was born July 8, 1938, in Jasper County Missouri to Elwood and Myrtle Hill.
Dan is survived by his three daughters, Susan Henson of Joplin, Mo., Tammie Kinman (Gordon) of Granby, Mo., and Angela Scott (Buddy) of Carthage, Mo., his daughter in law Marietta Hill of Texas. Additionally, Dan is survived several children of his heart, two of them are Larry Lane (Valorie) of Catoosa, Ok., and June Davis of Joplin, Mo., nine grandsons; Shane, Steve Duncan Jr, Nathan Scott, Dustin Henson, Justice Henson, Jedidiah Hill, Matt Kinman, Kevin Kinman, Dan Kinman. And seven granddaughters: Stacey Pinkerton, Shantell Kyger, Danielle Hill, BreeAnn Hollingshead, Lacey Hollingshead, Amanda Henson. And nineteen great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his sisters Joyce VanHoose (Scott) of Carthage, Terri Williams of Joplin, and sister-in-law Janice Hill of Joplin.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife Lois Christian Hill, son, Daniel Arthur Hill, Jr, his parents Elwood Hill and Myrtle Murray and brother William Hill.
Dan attended Golden City High School class of 1957. He spent most of is career as a landlord for S&H Properties of Jasper County LLC, and Hill Oaks Properties, a grower and then maintenance man for Fairview Greenhouses, a Farmer Owner of Poultry Ranch, a truck driver for Marrow Mills, sales/delivery driver breadman, for Holsom Bread Co., a Salesman for Oklahoma Tire Co., Lineman for Electric Co., Farmer Assistant for various folks. He retired in 2012 from S&H Properties of Jasper County LLC after serving 14 years as Owner/Property Manager. He raised his four children and was married to Lois for 60 years.
Dan enjoyed fishing at the various local lakes, especially Grand Lake and Truman Lake, working outside, gardening, fixing things, classic cars, time with family and friends, and working on houses. Celebration of Life Service was held February 5, 2022, at 59 Hwy Café/Event Center, with a meal to follow, officiant Nathan Scott (grandson). Interment at Mitchell Cemetery, Jasper, Mo. In memory of Dan the family requests that you plant strawberries as Dan was well known for the great strawberries he grew. Dan we will always carry your memory in our hearts.
