(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Debra M Hamilton, known affectionately as “Debbie” to her family and friends, passed away peacefully at the age of 60 on Friday, March 25, 2022, at her home in Carthage, MO surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was born on May 5, 1961, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Claude Kenneth Spriggs and Elsie Louise “Wrench” Spriggs. She was a member of the Class of 1979 from Webb City High School and later moved to Carthage in 1984.
Debbie had a devoted and distinguished career with Sonic Drive-In for 42 years as an owner/operator. Her professional accomplishments include numerous Sonic company awards, notably the D L Rogers Award; the highest honor given by the company.
Debra’s faith was paramount in her life. She was a devout Christian and lived her life by loving example. She attended North Point Church in Springfield, MO and Christ’s Church of Oronogo in Oronogo, MO. Her beautiful smile and laugh made any time spent with her memorable, warm, and full of love. She was known as “The Greatest Listener”, a quality deeply cherished by those closest to her.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Homer Elmer Hamilton, on June 23, 1984. Some of their favorite memories together were long road trips & hiking; he survives. She was a loving mother and is survived by two daughters, Chantel Roland and her husband, Darrin of Rogersville, MO and Tara Miller and her husband, Trey of Springfield, MO. Also surviving are three sisters, Cheryl Stoyanov and husband Metodi, Beverly Russow and husband Rick, and Judy Daniels and husband Ron. Her true joy and pleasure was being Memaw to her four grandchildren, Aerica Presley, Odell Presley, Avery Roland, and Coconut Miller (arriving in April). She is preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Spriggs, 1964 and a nephew, Robert Richardson, 2014.
Services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel with a Visitation on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery Joplin, MO..
