Alfred Lee Burgert, 66, of Asbury, Mo., passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on May 11, 1951, at Pittsburg, Kan., to Alfred Leland and Betty Jane (Koontz) Burgert. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1969 and later from Pittsburg State University where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Al worked in banking in Pittsburg, Wichita, and York, Neb.. He was also a longtime real-estate agent in Pittsburg.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Burgert of Pittsburg, Kan.; a brother, Philip L. Burgert of Asbury and Branson, Mo.; a sister, Maretta K. Jeuland and her husband Abel of Chicago, Ill.; a niece, Christine Ware of Gladwyne, Pa.; two nephews, Marc Jeuland (Shuwen) of Chapel Hill., N.C., and Eric Jeuland (Jane) of New Haven, Conn.; four great nephews and one great niece. Al was preceded in death by his father. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials be given to the National Kidney Foundation.
