Earlene Kay Kelley, adored wife, beloved mother, loving sister and cherished friend by many passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She is preceded by her father Kenneth Leon Wilson and mother Caroline C. Wilson. Earlene is survived by her husband Garry Kelley; two sons, William Lee and Richard Chennault; and daughter in-law, Regina Chennault. She is also survived by her three adored grandchildren, Alexander, Ethan and Audrey of Richard and Regina; as well as Earlene’s sisters, Katie Kellhofer, Kendra Hansen, LaVerne Cahalan, Olene Allen; and brother, Kenneth Leon Wilson Jr. Earlene was born in Aurora Missouri and a longtime resident of Joplin.
Earlene embraced all who came into her life as family and was known endearingly as Gramma E.and Aunty E. Her most precious gift was quilting to which she freely gave to family and friends throughout her life. Her accomplishments were many and most recently had been helping start Downstream Casino Resort with her adopted family of the Mathews.
Funeral services will be held at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. with visitation following. Family and friends who have a quilt by Earlene are welcome to share the quilt and stories of Earlene at the service for all that are gathered to give final remembrances.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
