Cindy Diane Brown, age 59, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at her home after a sudden illness.
Cindy was born July 16, 1957 in Joplin, daughter of Velma Eads Cox of Joplin, and the late Homer Lee Brotherton, Jr. Cindy graduated from Parkwood High School in 1975, and moved to Springfield. She worked for Litton and Zenith in Springfield for years, and most recently was employed with Bass Pro Shop. She returned to Joplin in 2011. She was a huge NASCAR fan, especially Jeff Gordon.
Survivors include her mother, Velma; sisters, Janet Slifer and husband Michael, Robyn Price and husband Ed all of Yukon, Oklahoma; brothers, Earl Clements and wife Kim of Joplin, Robert West of Denver, Colorado; six nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private interment of her ashes will be at a later date in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
