Carney Joe “Doc” Schneller, age 76, of Joplin, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness.
Carney was born on March 4, 1941, in Willow Springs, Mo., the son of Walter Thomas and Clara Marie (Anderson) Schneller. He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Central Christian Center. He was a chiropractor. He moved from Kansas City, Mo. to Monett, Mo. and has been an area resident since November of 2003. He had a PHD in Automotive Technology, Chiropractic Medicine, and Nutrition, and was a Registered Pharmacologist.
He married Patricia Shaw on November 15, 2003 in Joplin. She preceded him in death in October 2014. Surviving is their blended family; three sons, Anthony Douglas Schneller and wife Janice, Owensboro, Ky., Glen Anthony Heffner-Schneller and wife Arica, Springfield, Mo., and Gary Steven Heffner and wife Janiece, Cassville, Mo.; two daughters, Michele Marie Rice and husband Ronnie, St. Joseph, Mo., and Janet Lea Schneller, Joplin; two step-sons/nephews, Michael Castleman and wife Millie, Lebanon, Mo., and Mark Castleman, Springfield, Mo.; thirteen grandchildren, Chritapher Schneller, Chalyne (Schneller) Cox, Derek Rice, Desiree (Schneller) Gates, Trent Rice, Logan Goldey, Wade Lee, Brett Rice, Shawn Rice, Angelica Schneller, Wesley Schilly, Chance Smith, and Kaela Rice; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
