Bud R. McCulley, age 83, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away early Friday morning, June 16, 2017, at his home.
Bud was born March 19, 1934, in the Newport community of Barton County, to James and Cora (Hayward) McCulley. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob McCulley and an infant brother; and five sisters, Flossie Tuck, Pearl McMackin, Barbara McCulley, Blanch Stevens, and an infant sister.
On December 31, 1954, Bud married Gloria Morey and they made their home and raised their two sons in Lamar. In addition to farming and raising cattle, Bud had worked at King Press in Joplin for several years before opening and operating Bud & Sons Tire Shop. After retiring, he restored many antique automobiles and enjoyed the fellowship of car show friends.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Gloria; two sons, Bud Mickel (Cathy) McCulley, Sevierville, Tennessee and Ron (Toni) McCulley, Lamar; a brother, Butch (Suzie) McCulley, Lamar; a brother-in-law, Steve Stevens, Lamar; three sisters, Mabel Jones, Reeds, Missouri, Ida May Kozoil, Joplin, Missouri, and Janie Freeman, Lamar; four grandchildren, Andrea (James) Mitchelle, Madison, Wisconsin, Tabitha McCulley, Lamar, Tori Bello, Fayetteville, Tennessee, Britney (Kory) Johnson, Joplin; seven grandchildren, Angel, Jasmine, Alex, Justin, Adryan, Lake, Breckyn; and a large extended family.
A graveside service was held Monday, June 19th at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
