Lewis “Red” Sanders, age 74, of Lamar, passed away early Thursday morning, June 15, 2017, at his home.
Lewis was born May 29, 1943, in Lead Hill, Arkansas, to Lewis Sr. and Almedia (Waggoner) Sanders. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Tom, Dewy, David, and Billy Joe Sanders.
Lewis held a variety of jobs over the years. He was especially well-known for the abundant produce and delicious jams and jellies he sold the local farmers market.
On August 20, 1965, at Golden City, Missouri, Lewis married Martha Schroeder and she survives, of the home. Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy Ahlberg, Lamar, and Lisa Sanders, Shawnee, Kansas; two brothers, Dean Sanders, Crane, Missouri and John Sanders, Joplin, Missouri; and three sisters, Rose Lee Westbay, Arkansas, Carolyn Wilson, Lamar, and Shirley Gibson of Indiana.
A graveside funeral service was held Tuesday, June 20th, at Dudenville Cemetery south of Golden City, Missouri.
