Everett Lee Eads, Sr., age 71, Seneca, Missouri, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Mercy of Joplin.
Everett was born December 18, 1945 in Joplin, son of the late Raymond Eads and Thelma L. Cutbirth Eads. He went to work as an appliance repairman at the age of 18 working for Jim Thomas GE Store, and then Green Yates Appliance. He worked for over 50 years in this field before retiring in 2016. He was an all around handyman who helped family and friends for years.
In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Keeney Eads, and grandchildren Bobby and Sandra Eads, Jessica Shockley, and Wellington Madison.
Survivors include his children, Thersa Lee Madison of Miami, Oklahoma, Helen Eads and Boo Wyrick, Everett L. "Bub" Eads, Jr. and wife Shyla, Johnnie Eads and wife Tara, all of Seneca, Don Marlowe and wife Debbie of Georgetown, South Carolina, Ronnie Shockley and wife Terri of Charleston, South Carolina, Sandra Westfall of Joplin, Darryl Shockley and wife Lajena of Joplin, Michael Keeney and wife Suzanne of Andrews, South Carolina, and Linda Garthaus of Joplin; sisters, Jayne Aekins of St. Charles, Missouri, Ima-Jean Norred of Fernley, Nevada, Monite Richwine of Moore, Oklahoma, Dorothy Norton of Joplin, Helen Lawson of Joplin; 38 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other family members.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hornet Christian Church with Pastor Butch Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Hornet Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
