Mark Robert Krattley, 56, passed away on Thursday, June 22nd, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a short-battle with cancer.
Mark was born on June 10, 1961, to Robert and Joan (Brinkman) Krattley, in San Diego, CA. After graduating from high school in California, Mark moved with his family to southwest Missouri. Shortly after arriving in Missouri, he met Anita Gortmaker and they were married on December 8, 1979. Together, they forged a tested but unbreakable bond. He was employed by Able Manufacturing in Joplin, MO. where he worked for almost 29 years. He was an adventurous spirit who enjoyed bike riding, kayaking, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and close network of friends.
Mark is survived by his loving wife and companion of nearly 38 years, Anita; a son, Robert and his wife Kayla, Chanute, KS; a daughter, Heather, and granddaughter, SaTriana, Neosho, MO.; two brothers, three sisters, and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents and one granddaughter, Alayna Rayne.
In accordance with Mark’s wishes, his body will be cremated with arrangements handled by Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Joplin Trails Coalitions to foster the love that Mark had for bicycling and the outdoors. Contributions can be made through Debbie and Perry Johnson, owners of Bicycle Specialist, Joplin, MO.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be performed at a later date at the family’s home in Neosho, MO.
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
