Rex J. Lankford, 86, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest August 31, 2017 at his home after an illness.
Rex Junior Lankford was born July 7, 1931 in Seneca, MO the son of Lawrence and Corda (Pritchard) Lankford. Rex served in the Army of the United States in Germany from 1952-1954. Rex worked for Safeway Bakery 35 years and was an Insurance and Retirement Program Agent.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and fishing. Rex was a member of the Swars Prairie Baptist Church. He helped with Southern Baptist Mission Work at Papago-Pimon Indian Reservation in Stanfield, AZ.
Rex J. Lankford married Ella Belle Golden June 16, 1951 in Seneca, MO and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Bradley L. Lankford and wife Cathy, Joplin, MO; two daughters, Toni S. Lankford-Weston and husband Steve, Seneca and Melina K. Lankford-Bandy and husband Doug, Granby; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Corda Lankford, one infant daughter, Donna Jean Lankford and one infant great-grandson, Silas Bandy.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Swars Prairie Baptist Church, south of Seneca September 5, 2017. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00pm with Paul Case officiating. Burial will be in the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home. Arrangements under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO.
