Deborah Montee

Deborah Joan Montee, age 67, Galena, Kansas, departed this life on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the Solace House in Joplin.

Deborah was born on July 17, 1955 in Joplin, Missouri, to the late union of Otis “Chuck” Wells and Lois (Martin) Wells.

Deborah was united in marriage to Skip Montee on July 21st, 1973. They were blessed with 43 years before his passing on April 4, 2017.

She worked as a home remodeler for many years. She enjoyed yard sales, thrift stores, car shows, and anything car related. Even when she wasn’t working, she was still rearranging and upgrading things around the house. She could walk into a room and just envision all the things she wanted to move around and decorate. She loved projects, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Lewis; and one aunt, Grace Ann.

Deborah is survived by her three siblings, Bill Wells (Vickie), Chuckie Wells (Martha), and Rita Watkins (Burr); one aunt, Sheila Crowder; three uncles, Jerry Martin, Jeff Martin, and Steve Montee; two grandchildren, Maleigha Montee and Tyler Lewis; and one great-grandchild, Dean Montee.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 11th, 2022 at Galena Community Room from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
