He was born in Bolivar, MO on Wednesday, November 9, 1949. He was the son of Eugene and Kathleen (Smith) Abel.
Surviving are the following: one daughter, Sheila Abel-Eden and husband, James, of Monett, MO; a brother, Ted Abel and wife, Marcia, of St. Joseph, MO; a sister, Janice Kay Holt and husband, Kenneth, of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

He has been cremated at his request. The family will receive friends on August 20, 2022 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Monett House of Prayer in Monett, MO. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
