(From Parker Mortuary)Amber Lea Evans, age 41, of Joplin, passed peacefully on January 4, 2023 after a long battle with Huntington’s disease.
Amber, daughter of Robyn Sue Evans, was born and raised in the Joplin area. Her greatest joy in life was becoming a mother. Each and everyday were lived for her children. They were truly the center of her world and what she held most dear in life. Being a mom came natural to her and she was the most patient and kind mother with the biggest heart in the world.
Taking care of her family was most important and with a very strong work ethic she became branch manager of H&R Block. She loved her career and worked there until she received her Huntington’s diagnosis.
Even after that, she loved helping others so much that she spent her time volunteering for the Joplin Habitat for Humanity Restore as long as she could. Her smile lit up an entire room and she was always in a good mood as long as she had her Dr. Pepper and Snickers. Amber loved her grandchildren and holding their hands. She was loved by anyone who met her and she will be greatly missed by all that loved her.
Survivors include her children Kelsie Ackerson of Joplin, Klay Ackerson of Carthage; her brother Aaron Frazier of Neosho; her uncle James Evans of Joplin; cousin Mariah Smith and husband Justin, of Joplin; sister-in-law Savanah Grunden and husband Steven, of Joplin; grandchildren Kayson, Athena, and Parker; niece’s and nephews as well as extended family and friends who have became family.
Amber is reunited with her mother Robyn Evans and her son Kolbin Evans in heaven and they spend their days “dancing in the sky”.
