Danny Payne

(From Benton County Funeral Home)

Daniel Clarence Payne, of Jane, Missouri, passed away on January 13th, 2023. He was 71 years old at the time of his passing.

Danny was born on January 4th, 1952, to loving parents, James and Jewell Payne in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He grew up on a farm and was no stranger to hard work. He enjoyed working with his hands—raising cattle, building houses, planting and harvesting wheat, and woodworking.

Daniel graduated from Rogers High School in 1970 and later that year, he married his beloved wife Karen on November 14th. They raised a family and enjoyed 52 wonderful years together, always planning their next adventure.

When he wasn’t working to provide for his family, he enjoyed traveling, playing guitar, singing, fishing, and riding horses. In fact, you almost never saw him without his cowboy hat and boots on! He was known for his kindness and honesty, as well as his words of wisdom when others asked him for advice.

During his childhood, his mother worked hard to teach him the truths she believed from God’s Word the Bible. What Danny learned touched his heart and motivated him to dedicate himself to Jehovah God and he was baptized on December 23rd, 1967.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he enjoyed sharing his beliefs with others and volunteering to construct buildings for theocratic use, including one of the first quick-build Kingdom Hall projects in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Daniel is survived by his wife Karen, along with his 4 children, Kelley Valdez and her husband Rodney, Summer Fredericksen and her husband Keith, Anthony Payne and his wife Amy, and Ryan Payne. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren—Francesca, Victoria, Ashley, Alyssa, Melanie, Mariah, Sean-Vincent, Makoa, Kollyns, and Rowan. His sisters, Priscilla Popejoy and her husband Wiley, Deborah Adkins and her husband Bill. Many extended family members and close friends also remain to cherish Danny’s memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Timothy Payne, and his sister Rebecca Cowan.

Daniel Payne’s family will be holding a memorial service on Saturday, January 28th at 4:00 pm CST in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 1013 Kingsland Rd. Bella Vista, Ar. The service will also be streamed live on Zoom. Please call or text 479-418-1950 or 479-903-2427 for more information.
