(From Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes)Vera Henry Hailey, of John’s Creek, Georgia, died January 15th, 2023.
She was born in Stark City, Missouri on December 31, 1927. After attending Missouri State University, she worked as a teacher before devoting herself to raising her 4 children.
Later in life, she was employed by the Dekalb County Library System. Throughout her life she was active in many organizations and enjoyed painting, making jewelry, gardening and most of all, spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Ann Hailey and Patrick Duggan, and their son and his wife, Chris Duggan and Joyce Rudy: her daughter and her husband, Joyce Hailey Proctor and Edward Proctor, and their daughter and her husband, Hailey and Michael Barnett: her son and his wife, David Hailey and Janice Paris Hailey; their son and his wife, Ben and Claire Hailey; their daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Brock Bjornson; and their daughter, Laura Hailey: and her son and his wife, Paul Hailey and Melissa Ward Hailey; their son and his wife, Stephen and Christian Hailey; their daughter and her husband, Jordan and Chris Newman; as well as Paul’s son Matthew Hailey and his daughter and her husband, Ashley and Craig Jakubczyk.
She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Mary Duggan Dale and Patrick Duggan, Jr.; and her niece and nephew, Vicki Jo Henry Harding and Michael E. Henry along with numerous other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Franklin Hailey; her parents, B.A. and Irma Henry of Stark City, Missouri; and her brother, John W. “Jack” Henry of Monett, Missouri.
Services will be at Christ Church Episcopal, 400 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Norcross, GA 30071 beginning at 1PM on January 28, 2023, followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America, www.dementiasociety.org.
