John was noted for his hard work ethic, sense of humor, and a family man. He enjoyed eating breakfast at Joplin cafĂ© with the “liars club”. He shared many stories and experiences with his friends and children. He enjoyed working word search puzzles, keeping his mind sharp and active. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 52. Besides helping Meyer Battery, he worked a number of years for Bob Owens Auto Center.

He was loved by many and respected by even more. I will always remember the values he instilled in us. As a WWII veteran, truck driver, family man, and friend, he is a true hero of mine. Thank you for every second we had together, both are true expressions of how all the family feels.
