(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Nancey Ellen Bennett Gillogly departed from this life on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at her home in Sarcoxie, Missouri. She was born on February 19, 1945, at Cassville, Missouri to George and Helen (Linebarger) Bennett. She was a 1963 graduate of Purdy High School.
She continued her education at Southwest Baptist University, receiving her BA in Education in 1967. She later received her MA in Education from UMKC. She taught school, raised her children, and then retired after seventeen years in the clerical department of Probation and Parole in Joplin. She served as a church pianist at various churches for fifty years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Sarcoxie.
Nancey is survived by three daughters and their families, Beth Fenske and husband, Jeremy, of Wentworth, Missouri, Julie Gillogly of Sandy, Utah and Gina Wecker and husband, Jason, of Carthage, Missouri, four grandchildren, Hunter Wecker, Jemma Fenske, Macy Fenske and Gavin Wecker and one sister-in-law, Kathy Bennett of Joplin, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Beckett; one grandchild, baby Wecker; one brother, David Bennett and her parents.
Funeral services for Nancey are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023, with Pastor Ed Brown officiating. Those honoring her life by servicing as pallbearers are John Bennett, Nathan Truitt, Jim Reber, Ike Hemphill, Ed Hamm and Rob Greathouse. Burial will follow at Purdy Cemetery, Purdy, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In-Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sarcoxie Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
