(From Clark Funeral Home)William Thomas McSpadden Murray, age 80, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. He was born on January 17, 1943, in Nixa, Missouri, the son of Harvey E. McSpadden and Lula M. Harper. And was adopted by Floyd R. and Iris M. (Garber) Murray.
On July 2, 1982, William married Sherry L. Crawford in Kansas City, Missouri, and she survives him of the home.
William was a member of the St. Peter of the Apostle Catholic Church in Joplin, Missouri. He proudly served as Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Harter council 979 of Joplin and was a retired funeral director.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Gladys M. Wilson; three nieces, Amber J. Wilson, Shannon M. Wilson, and Piper S. Baier; numerous other family and friends.
His parents preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held at the St. Peter of the Apostle Catholic Church in Joplin, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Missouri.
