Carol Allison

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Carol Allison, age 82, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, departed this life on Jan 25th, at Freeman Hospital Joplin Mo.

Carol was born on Aug. 25th, 1940, in Montrose, Colorado, Daughter of Calvin and Vera Lovingier. Carol’s family moved to Hayward California in 1941.

In the early 1950’s, Carol met the love of her life, Conley who also lived in the Hayward area. They soon became inseparable and eventually married on Conley’s birthday, Jan 6th, 1955. The marriage led to the birth of their three children, Rodney, Johnny and Theresa. At the time of Conley’s death in 2020, they were married 65 years.

While living in the Hayward area, Carol worked as a nurse's aide in the Bay area. She also worked as a waitress at the popular Casper's Hot Dogs on C street in Hayward, which is still in operation today. In 1956, Conley's grandparents, Bud and Opal Allison purchased a farm east of Powell Missouri and moved to the area. The family would frequently visit them in Missouri as often as the long car voyage from California to Missouri would allow.

Carol and Conley’s family truly fell in love with the Powell Ozark region during these visits. It soon became an aspiration to someday live in the same area and enjoy the hills and streams and sites of our beautiful Powell Mo.

In the early 1970’s, Conley and Carol purchased property on Pine Log Road, North of Powell, with the intention of retiring on the property. In August in 1974, the family packed up and moved to Missouri. Once in Missouri, Carol worked for Fasco Ind. at Cassville, Missouri, Tyson in Neosho, and as a school bus driver for the McDonald County school district, retiring in 2011.

Carol was a very unique individual, with a gifted sense of finding humor in almost every situation. She loved to joke and have fun. Everybody that knew her commented “Carol always made me laugh!” Carol was also a very loving, giving and caring person. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and would do without if needed to make sure they were taken care of. She enjoyed her hummingbirds in the summer, maintaining 4 to 5 large feeders daily, amassing literally hundreds of small birds. She also enjoyed crocheting and her flowers. Carol will be deeply missed by her family friends as well as 358 hummingbirds now currently residing in Central America.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Conley Allison, mother and father Calvin and Vera Lovingier, her sister Linda Treese, two brothers Gary Lovingier and Bob Lovingier and daughter- in-law Anna Allison.

She is survived by her two sons and one daughter, Rodney Allison and wife Leah of Powell, John Allison and wife Dianne of Rocky Comfort and Theresa Hammon and husband Greg of Stella Missouri, one brother David Lovingier of Lake Tahoe Nevada and one sister Judy Armstrong of Ione California. Conley and six grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Carol.
