Betty Lynn Brookshire of Joplin, MO passed from this life Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was 75.

Betty was born February 16, 1947 in Joplin, MO to Howard F. and Agnes (Simmons) Kent. She had lived in Joplin since 2019 moving from Galena, KS where she had lived all her life, this is where she grew-up and never lived anywhere but in the Spring Grove area. She graduated from Galena High School class of 1965. 

She was a Para Professional for Galena Public Schools in Galena, KS, working 17 years and retiring in June 2012. She had also worked for SRS Elderly Care for 11 Years. She was a Democrat Committee Woman, 3rd Ward Galena , a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of Spring Grove Church in Galena, KS.

Betty married Lonnie L. Brookshire December 4, 1964 and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2011, they were married 47 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Howard L. “Butch” Kent.

Survivors include 1 son, James Brookshire and wife Amber of Baxter Springs, KS, 1 daughter, Lachele Brookshire of Springfield, MO, 2 granddaughters they raised, Ashley Sanchez and husband Chris of Centerton, AR , Sara Severs and husband Robert of Joplin, MO, 6 additional grandchildren, Julie Brookshire, Brittany Strother, Karli Brookshire, Jack Brookshire, Kaden Niday and Kenadie McKeehan and 7 great grandchildren, Tyler Seeber, Aubri Sanchez, Mason Sanchez, Penelope Strother, Jacob Sanchez, Greenlee Sanchez and Harvest Strother.
