(From Lakin Funeral Home)Patricia Susan Long (Ratliff) “Susie” passed from this life on January 22nd, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Susie was born December 10, 1959, in Webb City, Missouri, to Richard (Dick) and Patricia (Patty) Ratliff. Both deceased.
Susie grew up in Joplin, Missouri and spent many of her summers at the lake, camping, boating, and fishing. During her younger years, she babysat, worked at the YMCA, and then began working at a local grocery store. She graduated from Memorial High School in 1978 in Joplin, Missouri.
Shortly after graduating, Susie married Skip Boyd, and together they had one son, Jeremy Boyd.
On July 21, 1982, Susie married Jon M Long in Riverside, California, and together they had two daughters, Stephanie Jostad, husband Todd, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Jennifer Key of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. Susie and Jon have lived in Noel, Missouri for the past 25 years. Susie stayed home, raised her family, took care of the animals on her farm, and began welcoming her grandchildren into the world.
Anyone that ever met Susie loved and adored her! She was a sweet and loving soul. She had this amazing way of always seeing the good in people and helping anyone she could in any way that she could. She was a collector of people, adding many children and grandchildren into her loving circle.
Her three children were her pride and joy. Her eight grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jayden, Logan, Hunter, Noah, Braxton, Silas, and Colt, were her world.
Susie is survived by her husband Jon; three children; eight grandchildren; sister Sandra Clark, husband Abe, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and brother Matthew Ratliff, wife Misty, of Galena, Kansas.
Her family will carry on Susie’s legacy of unconditional love and kindness.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Missouri on Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Van Buren Cemetery near Wentworth, Missouri. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Missouri.
