(From Clark Funeral Home)Edith June McClinton Bridges went to be with her Savior on January 29, 2023. She was born on June 23, 1931, to J. D. and Henrietta McClinton in Lees Summit, MO.
June fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Charley Bridges, and they were married at her parent's home on August 20, 1948. They started their life together on a farm northeast of Diamond, where she and Charley lovingly raised their three sons. She continued with the farming, serving as secretary for Bridges Farms, Inc.
June was an active member of the Diamond United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school and Bible school. She was also involved in 4-H, serving as a club leader for several years, and was an officer in the Diamond PTA and served on the Diamond School Board of Education. June enjoyed singing and was a member of the vocal group, Sisters in Song. She also enjoyed painting and playing cards with family and friends. Together, she and Charley spent time traveling with 'The RV Bunch' for several years, going to warmer areas during the Missouri winters.
In addition to her husband, Charley, of seventy-four years, she is survived by her sons, Harold and his wife, Tiny of Diamond, Lee of Granby, and Glen, and his wife, Penny of Sarcoxie; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, with interment to follow in the Diamond Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of June may be made to Integrity Hospice, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, Missouri 64850.
