Ruth White

Ruth Irene White, Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Stella, Missouri, entered into rest on January 15, 2023 in the comfort of her home at the age of 96. 

Ruth was born April 27, 1926 in Irene, South Dakota, one of nine children to Emanuel and Anna (Lee) Stuen. She moved to the Stella, Missouri area in 1957 from California. She had worked at the Granby Garment Factory and then on the family farm, which she loved doing. 








She loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed being together and playing cards. Ruth was a member of Jones Chapel in Stella for over fifty years prior to moving to Joplin where she currently was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. 

On January 15, 1949 in California, Ruth and Billie B. White were united in marriage and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2012. 

She is survived by five children, DeAnna White of Tucson, Arizona, Billy White and wife, Patricia of Stella, Mike White of Santa Monica, California, Jeff White and wife, Lisa of Joplin and Donna Brake and husband, Doug of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Aaron White and wife, Casey, Brad White and wife, Kim, Curt White and wife, Chelsea, Seth Brake, Luke Brake and wife, Sarah, Hope Brake, Annie Parker and husband, Samuel and Katie White; great grandchildren, Gracie and Cooper White, Will and Wyatt White, Ella, Max and Cora White and Clara and Moses Brake and one brother, Larry Stuen of California. 








In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a great grandson, George White and seven siblings. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11 am at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby. Interment will follow in the Hazel Green Cemetery and grandchildren will honor her by serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation from 10 am until service time. Contributions in memory of Ruth may be made to Jones Chapel Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 26, Granby, Missouri 64844.
